just like the topic says. i just swapped in a h22 tranny onto my f22b1 motor in my 91 accord lx and it runs but like crap. i checked the on board computer and it is throwing code 15 which is the ignition output signal so i figured that somebody on here must know what is causing it. just replaced the internal coil,cap/rotor, all wires are hooked up so what could it be?

 

possibly the ignition harness.. can be a pain..

 

Check your ICM (Ignition Control Module) which is located inside of your cap. It's a small grey box that should have 4 wires plugged into it. This is the device that receives the signal from the crank trigger reading TDC. It then sends it's own signal to the coil telling it when to FIRE.

I could be wrong, but this sounds like it may be your problem...

so how do you check this box? what are you looking for.

 

This stuff varies a bit from year to year. Generally it works like this...

CKP, CYP, & TDC sensors inside the distributor send their signals TO THE ECU.
The ECU then sends an ignition-output signal TO the ICM (ignitor).
- (The ECU 'knows' whether this circuit is broken, maybe that's the error?)
The ICM creates the tachometer signal (blue wire) & it fires the coil.

You might want to read a Helm book for the '91 (or whatever year/model is your engine & ECU). The general idea is about the same, but the details are different. It'll probably tell you to check for a broken wire on terminal ???? of the ECU.
