Ball joint ?
Well, for the past 2 days, I've noticed a slight 'clunk' noise coming from the front driver's side suspension, after backing up and hitting the brakes. When the car comes to a stop, it makes the noise. If you go forward and hit the brakes, it will make this noise again. I noticed that the upper ball joint's boot had a small tear in it and some grease had started to come through the hole. I also just finished a swap and I might need to check all of the suspension bolts to make sure they're tight and not the cause of the noise... BUT... if it turns out to be the ball joint, will it need to be replaced or can you repack it with grease and put a new boot on? TIA.
the only boots you can get are urethane replacement boots, and they are basically (crap).
run to Honda or Autozone (cheaper) and get a new balljoint. Honda wants you to have all these tools and the like, but basically they are all pressed and a major PITA.
your Helm manual will detail the process
