need help with woofer amplifier
hi guys,
today i noticed that the fuse on back of my amplifer had burnt out. The fuse is 20 amps, and it is suppose to be 20 amps, as it was originally provided with the amp.

i put in a new 20 amp fuse and the amp started working. as it was working, i increased the "level", "bass boost", and "low pass" **** just a little, they were not @ max. level.
everything was still working. As i was putting the amp. back to its place, the fuse burns out, and since then every new fuse is instantly burnt out.
To test i took all wires off the amplifier, and ONLY plugged in the ground wire and the 12 v battery wire.
And again, as soon as the fuse is put in, it burns out. so it is not wiring problem (checked it to make sure)
i even tried lowering all boost levels, nothing...
Amp.:
500x2 watt, 2 channel, 2 600 watt subs.
amp. set on low pass.
Also, what is the protect light (the red light) on the back of every amp. ? Is it the ground symbol?
If you have any ideas what i should do, hit me up
. Thanks

check your ground... why you might think you have a good ground this might be whats throwing it into protect, also how do you have your subs wired? are they bridged and at what ohm? if your amp is not stable at the ohm level you have it wired you might wanna re-wire the subs and or not bridge them... i have noticed after going through expensive and cheap amps that alot of times if you are overworking it the fuse will blow along with the protect light to protect the amp completely! this is a common problem with most noobs in the car audio world... they see their buddy with a ppi amp that is 1 ohm stable bridged and they decide that they are gonna wire up their explod subs and optimus amp the same and they are continuiously blowing **** up! just make sure that you have everything wired as directed and if you arent getting the bang you are looking for try other amps, crossovers , decks and most importantly the box... good luck and let us know what you find. one last thing... you should never enter the positive numbers on your head units bass option.. always stay negative and at most 0 i have my unit on neg. 6 and my gain halfway and mine sound really nice too much and they will sound like **** and eventually blow!
The setup is bridged, however, i am not even plugging in any wires to the amp excpt the 12 v battery power wire and the ground to test whats happening, and it still blows up the fuse. Running @ 2ohms. Therefore, the problem may occur from :
- POWER wire
-Ground wire
-amp itself.
i changed the ground wire location, still the same thing: fuse blows up.
any suggestions?
thanks

Put everything down!
Leave everything alone and no more tests!
Definitely, you have an internal problem with your amp. Could be the power supply. Try returning it where you bought it from, if still got a warranty.
