best clutch for my turbo prelude
my 98 prelude has 234whp and 212 lbft tq...
and i think my clutch is starting to slip....
when in second gear at 3000 rpm's....and i smash the throttle...
sometimes my revs go up....but the car doesn't really move like it should...
it feels like i am losing traction...but i don't hear the tires making any noise...
i am totally new to aftermarket clutches...
so is there one that i could buy that will be able to handle 400whp...but feel not to much harder that stock...
(i am planning a built motor setup)
i heard that ACT is superheavy for the foot...
also heard that clutchmaster...will do the "OEM feeling" trick
any thoughts on RPS clutches?

I am a fan of the ACT clutches personally. The HA3-XTSS should work fine for you... so if you do plan on going with more power it will take the abuse.

pretty heavy at first, but not so much that its a bitch to drive. doesnt take long to get used to, and after that, you think everyone else has a bitch clutch

Heh...yeah I was never a fan of the push-your-brake-to-the-floor feel of the ACT's. I've got about 10K _HARD_ miles on my CM Stage4 with >300hp. I'm not getting any signs of slippage yet and it's still a decent clutch for the street. When it starts giving me problems I'll likely look into one of the various multi-plate setups out...I just put an Exedy twin-disk in a friend's civic and have been impressed with it.

hold on, i have a question, he said he guns teh car aroudn 2ks rpm and it like revs up w/out moving, isn't htat usually the tires not gripping? and if not, does the clutch slip while at full throttle or when you shift? or both?

I use ACT's HA3-XTSS my H22-Civic and Prelude. If you like to run the 1/4 mile, it gets rather tricky trying to get decent 0-60ft times w/this clutch setup.
You should also consider upgrading that flywheel. I have Fidanza flywheels in both vehicles; my only complaint, the tranny input bearing (pilot bearing) that came installed on the Fidanza flywheel is shot. It sometimes makes a high pitched noise. Annoying as heck, but oh well, what's the worst that can happen?
