We're having trouble figuring out which h22 we're puttin my civic. We ordered a half-cut from jarco, and i'm confused about if it's the h22a (jap spec) or the
h22a1 (USDM).

Now i'm out of town for a while, or else i'd simply run to the shop and look at the motor to see the code on the block, and i'm DYING to know. Here's what i DO know about the prelude half-cut we got:

It's a 92-96 or something like that i know. Not the NEWER ones. And it WAS A RIGHT-HAND DRIVE that's from japan (Tokyo to be exact). So my question is,

THEY WOULDN'T PUT AN AMERICAN H22A1 IN A JAPANESE RIGHT-HAND DRIVE PRELUDE WOULD THEY????

I know we're only talkin around a 10hp difference, but you tech peeps can appreciate EVERY lil' bit of horses. Like 190hp for the american h22a1, and 201 with the japanese h22a As long as i know that, I know WHICH h22 I've got. thanks.

 

if it's Japanese then the engine is H22A.

 

dude you are going to find out when you go to shop the shop and look at the block code/ Jarco is a respected seller and you're asking us to speculate that they would rip you off and put a USDM engine in there...

 

ha. I didn't mean it like that. (although now it does seem as if i was saying that.LOL) I was just curious if somehow they (honda) somehow MIGHT have made some jap preludes, with a USDM motors.

 

Have you ever heard of a USDM prelude coming off the showroom floor with a JDM H22? Exactly, No.

 

USDM cars are hardly EVER chopped in half and sold as halfcuts to anyone.

JDM has 197hp, not 201.

i got my front clip from Jarco, $2800 shipped

let me check......yup sure enough its a JDM H22a
