Default B16 internal upgrade quest?

whatup honda heads im new to the site even though my *** been trying to register for dumb long now, but finally succeded. Anyways I had my swap done about a little over a yr. and a half ago which is a 1st gen b16a. Got the basic bolt ons and like everyone else in here, I wanna go faster and by doing that I gotta go straight to the engine internals. Pretty much concentrating on the head internals, I already have a CTR intake cam and I'm goin ITR valves, inner & outer springs and of course ti retainers w/p&p job. I also cop a CTR pistons standard bore, pretty much the question is would the stock b16 rods could handle the power it would put out with the new internals??? I'm planing to use ARP rod bolts and head studs to the set up as well during the buildup and shot pin the CTR pistons to the stock rods. I just need some info if these rods can hold up and also do I need to hone the block to put the new slugs in? If so, do they need to drop the engine to hone the block??? I'm really on a tight budget here so I wanna do this the right way without having to rebuild the whole engine. Oh yeh the motor has aprox. 65k Thanks in advance

first of all you will probably want to replace the water pump, timing belt, oil pump, all new bearings.... if you havent since you got the motor......
im guessing that you havent done bearings... and im sure you need them because NOBODY is ever sure on the mileage of first gen b16 unless you got the front clip with the motor......

also if your pistons are std bore you can only hone the block.... not bore.....

your rods will be fine.....
yes i believe that you will have to drop the motor to hone the block unless you do it yourself but i would def send out to a machine shop.

Yeh I have changed the water pump, oil pump, timing belt and belt tensioner when I 1st did the swap. But now I wanna go to the internal parts and get what I can on this b16 before I move on to the next project I have in mind. Thanks for the info. Anyone else wanna share their knowledge?

so you bought the pistons already?

if you havent i would highly suggest getting a gsr block and build that up... you will like the 1.8L much better......

Yeh I already bought the pistons since they were cheap. The only thing Is I dont wanna separate the head from the block, I want this particular engine as a whole since its my 1st swap and I wanna keep it forever till i grow grey hairs and start sportin out dentures (lol) the engine and the car has a centimental value to me. But I already have another spare block (b18a) and a 99 si head that I have laying around here, so time and a lot of money is the only thing holdin me back..
