weird intermitent ticking sound front right
Hey guys, I tried the search feature but didn't come up with anything solid. Im hoping you guros can all help me out. I recently lowered my car about two weeks ago on H&r race springs and tikico illumina's. I had no problem whatsoever driving on on them. I just put a new set of rotas on as well, but had no problem with rubbing until yesturday. I was just mashing my car through a turn and afterwords i hear a small ticking rubbing sound from the left front wheel. What could it be? I looked at the wheel off the ground, it doesnt seem to be rubbing anything? Could it be my camber kit got knocked out a little through that turn? Or any ideas at all would help. Its getting worst. My steering isnt effected though. Doesnt pull to the left or the right. Just has a ticking sound..and its off and on every rotation. i recently had problems witht he axle after my swap, but the shop already fixed the axle problem. Any ideas wuld be alot of help. Thanks guys
have you checked to see if backing plate isn't rubbing against rotor? if so, just bend back off of rotor a bit.
Don't know if this is the cause of your problem, just a thought...
mmuller has some very good questions too...

its not liek an axle...its not a strong tick..its a light tick/rub sound. Almost like a tire rubbing..but i checked..nothing is rubbing gainst the tire. Its an on and off rub/tick sound. It actually sounds worst when i turn the wheel to the left. Hmm not sure if it does it when the susp compresses. but if i brake hard..it sounds like something movies...like possibly the camber kit? thanks for the quick reponses

hey guys...I just took out my car for a spin. The tickking sound is kind of away, but now i have a rubbing sound i guess..not sure how to describe it perfectly, but it could be more of a shaking sound. Its very light sound when i'm going straight, but as soon as i swerve slightly to the left, the right wheel shakes violently. Not to i cant control it..just sounds like its boucnign violently. Left yealds normal results. Any ideas?
That ticking noise is probably coming from your tire. During your turn the rubber may have come into contact with the seam under the fender liner. If that liner is worn, that seam can easily shred your tire when it comes into contact with it. There is probably a piece of rubber sticking out that hasnt come off completey and is rubbing everytime your tire makes a rotation. This happened to me a while back after coming out of a hard right turn. The ticking sound is probably going away because that piece of rubber is wearing down.

coo thanks for the replies guys..to update..i got new brake pads and rotors...installed them...tightened every bolt i could see to make sure...then tossed the tire back on...no more ticking...so maybe it was the brakes? maybe the tire? Maybe something...but its fixed..thanks guys ..gotta love honda tech!
