Default Axle Problems?

I went to the track last night and noticed on the way home a noise coming from the front left wheel area. It goes away when I stop but when I start it creaks up again. I'm worried I weaked the axle or something and it's going to break on me. It could also be the transmission but I couldn't hear it from the passenger side (then again I sit in the driverside so that could be why I only hear one side)
Anyways, according to firestone I had a problem in my front wheel bearing a little while back but they said I could just keep driving it, could it be that? But why would it just start giving me problems now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

try this, turn your steering wheel to 180 and and drive slowly, if it make more noise and you feel something clicking, then it's your axle. if not, then your bearing..
