Default LSVTEC Which dizzy and IM?

I have an OBD2 B18b. That is going into my OBD2 97 Civic EX. The VTEC head I have is an OBD1 B17a1.

Can I use the LS distributor and intake manifold on the VTEC head?

I need to use the LS parts since they are OBD2. Will they fit the VTEC head?

You cannot use the LS manifold on the B17 head. The bolt pattern is different. You can just reuse the B17's manifold, it won't affect the computer in any way. As for the distributor, you will need an OBD2 distributor like you mentioned. I believe you can use the LS distributor, but you need to cut a leg off so it will bolt up.

I went and looked and I see now that the LS dizzy does have 3 legs and the VTEC dizzy has only 2.

I looked at the manifold the LS manifold has some extra sensors that I dont see on the B17a1 manifold. Keep in mind that the B17a1 manifold is OBD1 too.

Thank you for your help.

The VTEC dizzy has 3 legs, its just that the front leg is placed lower to give clearance for the VTEC solenoid. As for your manifold, what about getting an ITR or Skunk2 one?

A new manifold is a good idea. Alhough the point of LSVTEC is its cheapness. So buying new parts is what Im trying to avoid doing.

Honestly, I don't think that a LS/VTEC is all that much cheaper then a complete DOHC VTEC motor.
