Default Buying Work Emotion CR wheels, final questions....

I am going with some gunmetal Work Emotion CR wheels 17 by 8. I noticed a couple offsets, which one is recommended? 42? 47? Also they are gonna be wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S-03's, what tire size would be recommended for the wheels? Thank you for any help, it's greatly appreciated ! -Shawn

The tires should be 225/45/R17

As for the offset, you can go either way...

Check this out and see for yourself http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

The 42mm will stick out 22mm and the 47mm offset will stick out 17mm,

you should get the 42 mm offset with a 17x8 rim.

Also you can run a 215/45/17 on it, and that is really the recommended size. The stock offset is what 45? If so, going with a wider wheel you want a lower offset number.

I was getting the 225 width from the guys at http://www.tirerack.com....

If the wheel is 7.5-8.0"wide they recommend the 225, if its only 7.0" wide they recommend the 215.

I THINK the offset is the length between one stud and the other stud going across from each other?

inlinefour.com is where I think I am going to order from, but the only offer the 17 by 8 wheels with a 47 offset. Is a 42 offset worth looking at other sites? Thanks for the help guys. -Shawn

i just recently bought these wheels in 17x7 +47 offset. i bought them used. i wanted to get 17x7.5 +42.i was concerned that with a +47 offset, it would look like it stuck in too much, but it looks great. howeever, if i was u, id try my best to get the +42 since u are running 17x8. i dont think its critical though

Ok. From what I have seen online my options are 17 by 7 with a 42 or 47 offset, or 17 by 8 with a 47 offset only. I guess what I am asking is, what would you pick? If anyone could explain the benefits and cons of each size I would really appreciate it. -Shawn

Still wondering if I can find a 17 by 8 wheel with a 42 offset. I am pretty sure they aren't made in a 42. Should I go for 17 by 7 so I can get a 42 offset, or just stick with wider wheel with a 47 offset. I appreciate all the help. -Shawn
