I am pretty sure my tach is fucked up in my hatch. Sometimes it reads like 2900 at 80 mph and some times it reads lik 3600, its been cold and I played around in the snow a little, maybe the wire is a little lose?

at 80mph my RPMz are around 4k

 

80 mph = 4k rpms.

 

well mine read at like 3700 at 80 but its auto so i dont no if that helps you

 

mine reads about 3500 at 80mph. So does my bud in his 98 LS.

 

check the ground on the back of your thermostat housing... mine was doing the SAME thing.

im at 3500 @ 80... and about 3200 @ 75
