Pretty much my alternator belt keeps on loosening up, so i tighten it....now its loosening almost every time i drive. I just replaced my belt about 3 weeks ago because it wouldnt stop whining, now the same **** what the hell? Anyone have any ideas?

 

did you tighten BOTH bolts?

 

yeah, be sure all the bolts are tight. I always torque down all 3 and i've never had a problem.

is it possible your belt is stretching? if that was the case your alt bearings might be going out causing play in the pulley... making it untrue, if thats the right word...

 

Sorry guys i havent been online in a while but you are both right.....i didnt know that there was a mounting bolt (yes annoying) so i went to check if it was loose and it was non existent so i bought a new bolt. Thanks for the replys guys.
