Default What suspension on koni yellows?

What is a good spring/coilover to put on some koni yellows. Right now i have 5zigens on my kyb agx's. I was wondering what you all would suggest a good stiff/but not full race spring/coilover would be and a price. I only drive my car 8months out of the year.

what kind of spring rates should i go with. I want something for track days and still streetable, but it can be harsh cause i got a whole other setup. Dont you have to get specific gc coilovers to match the konis?

If you go over 400lbs, then you *should* have your Koni's revalved. There are lots of people who use a 400/450 setup and don't revalve their Koni's, it all depends on the surface you run on. With higher rates and no revalving it will have a hard time on rough tracks. If you run on nice smooth surfaces than you could get away with it.

Cheers,
Sean

if you choose gc's then you must order gc's for the koni yellows... the sleeves are different.

about $400 new if i recall correctly.

used probably 200-350 but if you want a specific spring rate you probably aren't going to find exaclty what you want... and IF you do, chances are they won't be for the Koni's...

From what I was reading, Konis can take rates to about 550lbs. I'm actually going to try out 400F/500R. Not sure how it's going to ride, I am sure the rears are going to hit hard though. The fronts will be alright becuse my H&R Race springs have a front rate of 480.

315 is about right for GC coils. MY vote with koni shocks come ground control coilovers.

I have heard those are not that great, and that a GC setup for Konis would be alot better. I think the spring rates that come w/ those Comptech Konis aren't very aggressive or something like that.

I'd rock a custom GC rate.

I rode in a hatch running 425F/550R with koni yellows (full stiff turned back quarter turn), and it was awesome.

All of you people who think that 400+ and what not isn't streetable and rides like ****, aparently haven't ridden on such a setup.

It rides firm and good. Hell my H&R's rode worse than the GC's did. I highly recommend a custom GC rate pushing 400+lbs

So the 425F/550R ride decent on the street? I was thinking of going 400F/500R for my DA with OTS Konis. You think the ride will be ok.....espcially on the nice Chicago streets?

I was wanting them just so i wouldn't have to run the sleeves... no way to order JUST the threaded koni's... no springs... is there? or custom spring rates?

ive got GCs wil 500f/400r with Konis. i like it. not a soft ride, but not harsh. when you tighten the konis you can tell you are in track mode. i webnt with 500 in the front because i didnt want to have 500 in the rear since then my *** would be bouncing around a lot more
