Default Is my Pioneer HU not sending enough watts for these speakers?

Im using a Pioneer mp3/cd player that puts out ~50w peak, 23w RMS. I am using these http://www.rockfordfosgate.com...xials Rockford speakers that are rated for 100w peak/50w RMS. They sound great, but they arent very loud. I have to turn the volume way up. My question is, if i was using speakers that were rated for lower wattage, would i be getting more volume out of my HU?

I was planning to add a second amp to run these speakers, but i cant afford it right now. So would i be better off with different speakers, or should i just save up for an amp?

Save for the amp...I know way too many people who had this problem...the amp will solve your problem of power, just get a amp that runs 75x2, or if you want, 75x4, the amp will give you speaker more punch with bass responce, and will increase the clearity of the speakers themselves.

get the amp. If you had speakers rated for lower power they would not sound any louder. They may be slightly louder, but not marginally louder.

OK thanks. A new amp it is then. So what would be a good one to run 4 of these speakers? Why would i want a 75x2 amp? Shouldnt i be looking for like a 50x4?

you said you were going to run those 2 speakers, so thats why i said #x2, best to go with a 4 channel amp so you can get all around better sound out of your midrange speakers. As for the amp, whats your price range?

and like he said, buying lower end speakers wont help much at all, you would only notice a small difference between them, as for the amp, you will notice a big difference

Is it possible for me to run just the front 2 speakers using all 4 channels from my HU? Kind of like you would bridge an amp to double the watts on half the number of channels? Then i would just need a 2 channel amp for the back. Im thinking probably not, but just wondering.

I guess id like to keep it under $200, $150 or less would be even better. Basically, i want the best sound i can get out of these for the lowest possible price. But if i need to spend a little more to get the best sound, then im cool with that too. It will just take me a little longer.

You would fry your hu if you used all four channels on your 2 speakers.
You are better off getting a 4 channel amp that is rated at 75x4 rms watts.
