Since the reverse gear is not synchronized, there is a certain clutch "run-down" time associated w/ shifting into reverse. Try disengaging the clutch fully and wait a few seconds before going into reverse. On my 89 Camry I think I heard it should not be more than 9 seconds. I don't know what the spec would be on a GS-R. Basically it meant that if you waited at least 9 seconds and it still ground going into reverse, then there were problems.

I had the same problem with reverse grinding... Put it in 1st gear, then put it back to reverse without releasing the clutch. This should do the job..

I had the same problem...Sometimes you gotta make sure the clutch is ALL the way to the floor or let the clutch out a little, then put it in reverse.

Hey stop stressin!! its nothing big...

K. I just put the clutch in wait like 9 secs then put it in and it works no grinding yet.

That probably works because you're waiting longer to put it into reverse. If you push the clutch in, wait a couple of seconds (about as long as it takes you to go into 1st and back) and then put it into reverse, it will probably be fine.
