Default looking for info on auto to manual conversion on 1990 teg.

just looking for some sites or info on this swap. and no one tell me to just sell the car and get a standard, this car is my daily driver and is paid for. just got the built motor in my del sol so i want to go ahead and do some work to the teg. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

For the relatively low cost of the car, it would be more economical to just sell the car and buy one with a manual transmission. You're looking at anywhere from $500 to well over $1000 for the conversion when you could sell your automatic for "top dollar" and reinvest in a solid running manual and probably have money left over.

On a side note, the only time a swap is recommended, is when it wasn't offered from the factory the way you want it.

don't feel too bad...i asked that same exact question about a month or two ago. i got the same exact answers.

one thing that i think i should say, though, is that even though i went through this too, they are right. the cost is insane and it would be much more economical to just sell it. i mean, installing a whole new tranny would open up all sorts of possibilites for mess-ups and screw-ups. i mean, if it wasn't put in the car to begin with, then there is always a chance that it could crap up, simply because it wasn't put in when it was built. just something to think about...
