itr tranny
if you are staying N/A then yeah that would be a good thing to get because of the tighter gearing... but if you plan on going turbo best stick with the LS tranny and buy a quiafe or kaaz lsd..hope that helps
It is good because your engine will deliver more HP to the wheels over time.
Think about it this way:
If you peak @ say 150HP, when you shift, with tranny A your engine drops revs and the HP starts at 100 in the next gear.
With something tighter like an ITR tranny, you will start at probably 120 HP in the next gear and work your way up to peak sooner. Net effect is that while your engine is not making more HP, it is delivering MAX HP MORE OF THE TIME

...and talk about gripping the corners! Schweeetttt!!! Good rubber on the wheels help as well!
I think the best suspension mod I ever did was replacing the stock tires with my Dunlop SP5000's. And there are way better tires out there than those. But the difference is like night and day with new, good tires.

if your redline is going to be stock, getting a type r tranny will KILL your top speed.
if you dont care about top speed, its a good tranny to have...................
probably max out at just under 2000kph

personally i think an itr tranny is to short for an ls meaning cruising on the highway at to 80 could turn into a gas guzzlinghigh revving affair go with a gsr tranny they are easier to find, cheaper and probrably a better bet for normal day driving

I agree with alexboy you should seriously think about the daily driving consequences of the ITR tranny. Not only the gas guzzling but the extra wear on the engine due to higher rpm on the highway. I would only get the itr tranny as the last step in a serious NA build-up. Just my opinion.
