Default Shift grinds

everyonce in a while (becinung more frequently now) when i shift from 1st to 2nd, theres a low grinding sound......not like a mis shift/bad clutch work, this is very low sounding, and his happening even when the clutch is all the way in.....i was thinking mayb the syncro on the 2nd gear collar is going bad and making improper contact???...i realy dont know all that much about trannies...anybody got a clue???

If its within warranty (your sig might not be your ride) have a technician at the delaer drive it and tell you....If so the warranty will replace hat they need to so you can shift smoothly.

well......after a more careful analyzation, its might be from teh cold....only seems to be happening when the shifter feels stiff (from the cold in teh morning).....im not gonna worry about it for now, but thanks for the heads up.....if it is the syncro, i bet its from all my 4->2 heel-toes at 40mph.....oh well thanks yall

try changing the tranny fluid. if the fluid has some mileage or time on it, new fluid can improve shift quality

I was experiencing the same thing while the temperature has been low...just shift slow and easy until the car has warmed up a bit...that is what I have been doing...and my OIL change IS tomorrow...so tranny fluid and check-up is coming also
