Has anybody gotten a snag in their seat? It is not on the suede(sp?) but on the center section of the seat. I think it was caused by the zipper on my bookbag. I am lost on what to do to fix it... I thought about using a lighter to burn the snag material down and to the normal height and to hopefully stop it from getting worse but dont want to have a burn mark on my seat. Anyone have any suggestions? I would take a pic of it but dont have a digi on hand.

 

I feel ya, man... My sister's big honkin' wedding ring tore a hole in my passenger seat cushion. It's a little tear/pul about 1cm wide...

Grrr... and I see it every day.

To fix it... seat would have to come out. Cover would come off cushion/seat. repaired from the inside out (I mean, it's only fabric). Cover reinstalled. Seat reinstalled. Too much hassle right now...

Besides, gives me the impetus to get JDM Recaros (as if I need any more). Question is... red or black?

What kind of material is that? I think that I am going to call the local uphoseltry shop and see if they will look at it and give me a price quote.

My passenger seat has one, i made the mistake of cutting it off, it hasn't unraveled that much, but it's a noticable hole...i may see if i can get it fixed under warranty, if not, when i put the sparco in i'll probably swap the drivers seat one.

 

I feel your pain. No problems with my seats, but I punched a hole in my headliner accidentally a few months ago. I try not to look up there. No suggestions for a seat fix. Sorry to hear about it.

 

Yeah, I had the same thing happen on my passenger seat. If it's just a snag on the material, like it pulled one of the "loops" up, then you should be able to take a needle and kind of pull the thread around the one that's snagged. Get what I mean? Just try to tighten up the loop that got snagged by pulling out the other ones around it a little. Hope that helps. Or you could just buy a replacement seat.

 

Well if there like JDM recaros you can replace the inserts..so you just would have to buy the affected area.

 

Hmmm...does anyone know if you can buy just those inserts for the JDM recaros? or just the whole seat?

I kind of have a unique issue with the fabric on the drivers seat: On the seat bottom(where you sit) right where my wallet sits in my right back pocket that fabric is physically "worn" in pretty bad. Kind of matted down and almost frayed a bit. You can tell it's shaped basically like my wallet. I think it's from my few times drag racing and Also autocrossing I assume. You see, my right leg/foot is really rigid while I'm racing since I'm so content on mashing the gas pedal through the floorboard So alot of wear and tear is transferred through my ***:0) to the seat. Anybody else have the "wallet" issue? Well, I don't keep my wallet in my pocket while driving the R anymore

ASR on here is my buddy he had had his seats warranted twice now for that the little snags they reupolster them sorry can't spell right now.
