These motors make most of their power up top so I would keep looking for the 4-1 style!

RedTegLS - Wow, I had to register for the forums just to let you know that you really have no idea what you are talking about. Why bother posting if you really have no idea at all?

On the B18B, power starts to drop at 6k RPMs. This is due to the design of the Intake Manifold. To see power at the top, you want to upgrade to a Skunk2 IM or retro-fit an ITR IM.

As far as the header, buy it, it's a steal. You could resell it for $200 to the right person.

Exactly, the LS motors (lacking VTEC) have increased displacement for more low end power and torque. I'd buy the header and use it, but reselling it and getting a better header is always an option.

I would have to say nay my friend.

a 4-1 would BLOW on an LS unless it was built or somewhat.

Thats the impression i was under that only VTECs need 4-1 and LS or non vtec engines work better with 4-2-1. Does it matter whether its ceramic or polished? i am under the impression that thats all for looks. Also my buddy has a lift in his garage, is it hard to install the headers, I read over my helms and it seems easy?

Ceramic headers are insulated better, but are more prone to rust should the finish wear off. Also ceramic headers will crack if you wrap them with header wrap. Stainless isn't insulated as well as ceramic, but you have the option of header wrap which will insulate better than ceramic coating can. Lots of people get the stainless ones just for looks.

I got a 4-1...but I have 404's on the way, and "up" there is where I'll be pulling pretty hard.
