I have a carbon fiber hood that has been chipped with small rocks on the freeway and is really starting to fade beyond I can stand. The fading is really causing it to look like ****. rather than shelling out $350+ for a new hood do you guys think this hood can be salvaged by clearcoating it. i ask because my mother works in the corporate office at One Day Paint and Body and she could probably get the hood clearcoated for next to nothing. so will clearcoating it make it look brand new again?
Since the paint will be almost nothing I think you should paint it the color of your car. Won't stand out as much if a police officer is across the street looking at someone to pull over or something of that effect.
