Pic someone took of me at autoX a while ago, nice blur
that's the only thing that kinda sux about my smarter-than-i-am digicam, it rarely blurs all that much, although i've gotten a few great pics of other people, and had one or two decent of myself...i just loved the saturation of colors on this pic. I posted this a bit ago, but here's one of the better blur pics taken with my camera:
Where are the rest of the pics from the 9/16 Akron event ?
Here's a few of my favorite "blurred" pics. I took these at an ASCC event...

Niiiiice pics guys! I tried to do the whole blur thing but the sony I used was way too fast (Or I was too slow...? NAH!). Next time I'm bustin' out the SLR. Aleph--I'm stealin' your Honda-Tech sticker/magnet idea. Rock.

Make the shutter speed as low as possible and follow the subject to keep the subject in sharp focus. The arpeture will widen and the focal plane will be smaller too so objects will only be in focus at a certain distance from the lens.
How does one attempt to take blur pictures? How do you set up the camera?
The best way to take such pics is with a film camera. Use slow film (ISO64 or ISO100) and a tele lens (longer focal length in mm). If you've got an SLR, set it to apperature priority and crank it open. It's best on a tripod (since you can eliminate one plane of movement), but a very steady hand will work, too. All you need is about 1/125sec shutter speed...
With my cheap *** Kodak DC240 digital, the only way you can take action shots of cars is by following the car until the camera takes the pic. .
You are very perceptive, young jedi...I thought the MAG-4 was a pretty bland helmet, so i decided to spice it up a bit...i've actually gotten alot of compliments on the helmet, which surprises me cuz i'd figure more people would just point and laugh

As for my camera setup, it's an Olympus D-490Z, which is a pretty brainless point and shoot camera, i usually set it to sequential mode (takes a picture every .5 seconds until it runs out of buffer, after 10-15 shots, in 1600x1200 mode), and just track the target while holding down the button...i've gotten decent at getting pics this way. Obviuosly, they blur more when the target is close, and moves rapidly compared to the background, but you can't beat analogue (or digital with manual shutterspeed) for really blurry pics like the first one...i love how the wheels look solid, and i'm probably not going more than 30-40 MPH
