stock shocks ok ?
FYI,
Some guys on clubrsx have gone only 10,000 and they blew....One had went @60,000 with no problems.
You'll know when they go...Hopefully somebody will develope a reasonably priced replacement strut assembly that would work with a 1.2-1.7" drop.

It is always good to put aftermarket shocks in when you change your springs. The reason is the factory shocks are valved for the stock springs so when you put lowered springs in you will noy get the ride that you would with the aftermarket shocks and your struts will blow out eventually. And another thing you will only have to do the job once.
I ran the stock shocks with skunk2 coilovers ( 2.5 inch drop) and the car rode fine for 30,000 miles before the shocks finally blew. After that I was considering getting koni shocks, but said screw it and got Tein Flex complete coilover.
Later on down the road you may want to invest in an actual coilover system down the road.

i think a lot of it just depends on your road condition and amount of drop....
personally i wouldnt ride on them till they blow...it makes a huge mess and you are driving a bouncy ball...and makes annoying noises.....let alone it can compromise your safety....i had mine blow on my Dc4....it was so lovely.....
best bet is to just do it right the first time....if you don't have the money to do it right....then dont do it....
