Are 2001 type r cams different when it comes to having the 2 grooves at the end
I just bought these cams off a message board and the guy swears that they are 2001 type r cams yet the end of the camshaft has only a single ring as apose to a double ring. Does this make the camshaft a b16a2 cam? I m soo confused. I wanted to buy his supposed type r head but it was marked pr3-3 as aposed to pr3-4 but .... the guaranteed type r intake manifold ports match perfectly! So is his head a 2001 type r head and I really hope the cams are cause I own them now. Please help guys. I have pix to show but i have idea how post please help me out here.
Thx in advance!

only ctr's have the 2 rings on the intake side
itr intake cams are not the same as ctr cams they have different part numbers
only the exhaust cams are the same
the itr intake cam has 1 ring and the itr/ctr exhaust cam has 1 ring
b16 and gsr cams dont have any rings

well i'm still wondering about the pr3-3 and pr3-4 question...can a real type r head have pr3-3 stamped on it? or does it have to be pr3-4? i know both are b16 heads...but just wondering if the stamps mean anything.

That is the casting number. It has absolutely no relevance to vehicle make or model.
I have a Pr3-1 USDM ITR head, and a Pr3-4 JDM ITR head. I've seen every casting number possible on every combination of ITR/B16 heads...its a guessing game.
...in reality, there is minuscule differences between b16/b17/ITR heads anyways, a very slight porting on the inner shrouds of the intake ports.
