thinking about lowering my 91 prelude... need advice
hi guys;
i recently came across a pair of sensatrac (napa) shocks for very cheap price, and i also have a set of no-name coil-overs, do you guys think it's a good idea just to replace the two front shocks and leave the rear one alone?
i don't plan to lower the car too much, 1.25" the most.

I'll suggest to get all 4 shocks...
Noname coilovers can give you a ride to cry about man, but don't knock it till you try it....I guess
Personally I went with KYB AGX struts and H&R Race Springs

if you want a nice drop, with a nice ride, go with H&R Sport springs.
personally, my 90 rides on Tokico Blues, and i loved them til they blew out, but im riding on neuspeed race springs. and i need a more aggressive shock for being so low. but the shocks available for the 3rd gen are rather limited.
are those sensa whatever shocks made for stock height or lowered vehicles, i wouldnt trust them with a lowered car ifthey arent made for it

on 3rd gen ludes, even more so than other cars, if you're going to lower it, do it right, not just cause you came across a good deal and you have cheap coilovers.
i say don't do it, you'll end up needing a camber kit and maybe new axles, tires, maybe more - even with just a 1" drop.

There is a lot of prelude forums that will help you out. I don't know if we can post other forums, but try out preludepower.com To my knowledge that is one of the sites that mostly focus on the 3rd gen prelude 88 - 91 Prelude. There is also preludeonline.com which has a great mix of 3rd/4th/5th Gen related things.

of COURSE you can join the club, hit me on aim, and sign up for our boards, meet some of the people.
i purchased mine used, i got mine from a friend shortly after i got the car, because he wrecked his 88, it was a direct swap over, i just took out my stock setup and replace it with the neuspeed and tokicos.
i dont know how long he had them on the car, but i know it was under a year.
added to that, where he lived he was surrounded by speed humps, basically a speed bump x4 bigger, higher wider. and, and where i go to school, and a lot of places around here have speed bumps so they were bound to blow.
with only a 1 - 1.5 inch drop you more than likely wont need a camber kit, and you should be fine anything more would need a camber kit like mine.
kablamo is right, dont buy cheap stuff because its cheap and there, buy quality, youll thank youreself in the future.
im riding on a 3inch drop, and its killer, but i absolutely love the handling

sure but what more do you need to know? about lowering or general stuff regarding 3rd gens? i had never lowered my 3rd gen but know several people who have, and so i've heard all about what to do and what not to do.
