Default best/easiest way to get a twisted off bolt out of the head?

I have a huge problem...I set my torque wrench to 7psi for the cam griddle bolts on my b16 because I was told they were the same as the b18 specs and twisted off part of the bolt. So now, part of the bolt in stuck in the head. Once I get the parts I need to fix a couple other things on the head I will take the valve cover off and see what I can do, but I want to see if you have any sugestions on how to get this bolt out without damaging anything.

Thanks guys!

How far is the bolt sticking out? If its sticking out far enough you grab with vise grips and probably get it out as long as you don't scrore up anyhting if its stuck inside then I would (slowly!)drill a tiny hole in the center half way down the bolt and use a screw extractor in a tap wrench. You should know when the extractor locks on. Then use whatever means necessary to SLOWLY take it out. If you go too fast with it you'll lose the lock and have to use a bigger extractor.

Try a magnet first to thread it out. There might not be much friction holding it in.

If that doesn't work, super glue or JB weld a lever onto the bolt and twist it out.

you sheared off a bolt using 7 ft/lb's on a torque wrench?! How'd you do that?!?!?!

If there's any sticking up, try the vise grips. PRAY there's something sticking up, cause the other options take much more time. If not, try the screw extractor method.

I had a similar thing happen to me. The bolt was stuck inside the head so I had to use a screw extractor. It only cost about $4. Just be very careful not to break the screw extractor off in the bolt. If that happens you will have to weld something onto the bolt to get it out.

screw extractor works wonders, i had to use one this weekend to extract 2 valve cover bolts on a y8.

Well, I wasnt using a in/lb torque wrench. I didnt know I had to use that kind. I was using a ft-lb one (BIG) looks almost like a breaker bar. Im gonna buy a small, in/lb one this week if i can find one that i like. I have only been to autozone to look for one so far and most tools they have are made my "Great Neck". I think Ill check out Sears for some craftsman monday.

Thanks for the help guys! I also looked for some JB Weld in autozone but I couldnt find it there. On the JB Weld site they say autozone is a distributor...ill check out walmart tomorrow.
