Knocked a rod! Help....
So uhm , yea! I knocked a rod awhile back, and i was wondering what i would need to fix it? Could i just replace the bottom end? My dad said it could've fucked the head up also!? I dont know. Anyways...if all i need is a new bottom end....so you guys know where i could get one? Im trying to avoid buying a whole new motor.
Well when it happened...it was knocking for maybe a whole 20mins...and it finally gave. When i went to look @ it the next morning...there was a hole blown thru the block...with oil everywhere. So now what?
haha...B series swap time, with 15k in the bank AND Im going MKIV in a few weeks!? LOL
I just need it fixed...at minimum cost...so i can sell it.
Can anyone help with the original post in mind?

You need to start off by taking the head off and checking the valve chambers...If they are damaged, then you basically need to buy a whole new motor. If the valves and chambers are ok, then i would advise you to clean the head, and make sure that there are no metal shavings or loose rod or piston pieces inside the head...If the head is good resurface it, and get a valve job, if you can financially. Good Luck!!!!!!! :
