Default piston to valve clearance question.....

alrighty, heres the situation, i have a spare ls block just sitting in my garage that needs to be rebuilt, but i dont want to just build it back to stock id like to put some different compression pistons in the motor but still use the ls rods to keep my costs down cause im trying to focus on getting my own place to live and the **** that goes with your own home, heres my question, will i be able to run a high compression piston, say 11:1 or so using an ls head without having any piston to valve problems, will the combustion chamber allow it or is it to flat of a surface area to allow the higher compression piston, could i use a piston out of a civic type r without any problems?, id like to run either 11 or 12:1 compression on the street to give the motor a little more pep, just need some tech answers, thanks in advance to all who can help me out........
