question for obd2 mini-me swaps
go find a knock sensor! for real i have a 96 dx y7-z6 combo and decided to use the ex ecu (p2p).there are a few issues (why obd2 sux).when i first installed the ecu it threw a cel (knock sens.) but i thought o-well lets go for a spin and see what happens.the engine would rev in neutral but once on the road it would bog and not rev past 4k if i remember right. anyways i found a used sesor and plug and the cel went away. about two days later the cel came back on. this time it for the evap system (91 or 92 cant remember right now without going and checking). oh yea just remembered about the iavc issue. my iavc was 3 wire the p2p looks for a 2 wire and the 3 wire works way differant than the 2 wire so my idle was way low and eratic, never the same.so i wired up a 2 wire iacv and that was taken care of.what ive found out about the iacv is the ex system is way differant than my dx. the gas tank is different along with the purge valve, the tank press. sensor and solenoid noot to mention the wiring to control all of it. i found out about a wreaked ex in a junk yard. anyways this is getting long so bottom line is that i drive around with a cel, vtec still activates and performance is improved (i port matched the head and intake before the install and installed a comp cams cam and valve springs). with the lame dx tranny i went from a best of 16.70 to 15.82 in the 1/4. i have a line on a ex tranny and that should make a big diff. if i can help somehow let me know.

http://www.thepartstrader.com, H-T classifieds, or d-series.org classifieds to get a KS, then source an obdII pin, a length of wire and your set! match the pin location on your existing harness plugs to the KS pin location on the ECU.
OR, a better solution is get an obdI jumper harness and p28; no knock sensor, better maps and hondata-able : )

if you want to put knock sensor on obd-1 block using obd2 harness where do you screw in the KS to the back of the block? I see no place for it

Whoa you really dug this thread up didn't you? There should be a threaded hole by your oil filter right beneath the intake manifold for the knock sensor.

I did not see one on the d15b7 block I am using. See I am doing a mini me for a friend and the block is d15b7 with d16y8 head and obd2 wiring because it is going in a 200 civic ex coupe
