Default Tranny grinding.. Quick fixes??

I have a 89 crx dx tranny and it grinds a little when going into 2nd gear.. I could give a **** less about the trans but its too damn cold here to change it right now.. Will putting a different fluid help it not to grind as much.. I have heard redline oil will help a grinding tranny but I have never tested this.. Anyone have an idea for me.. Thanks

Go to the nearest Chevy dealership and get three quarts of GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. It solved my problem.

won't solve everyone's problem though. Did nothing for me but worth a try.

If you still grind you need tranny rebuild, synchro fucked.

or buy new tranny.

Why do I need 3 quarts.. My tranny only holds I think 1.9 quarts??

yeah, the gm synchromesh doesn't work miracles, but if your synchro is not that fucked it will help the grinding; you say that it slightly grinds so it should help
