I just wiped out my motor, thats the only car I have for transportation. I just got a Dx motor in, its also a 96 i swapped out the intake manifold and put my Ex intake manifold on.i pulled out the vtec wires from the ecu plug-in throughout the engine harness. Its running on a Dx ecu with the Ex wire harness it starts and drives but when accelerating it makes a tapping noise in the intake. Then suddenly it pops. I checked my injectors,injector two is not spraying gas and what I noticed on the wire diagram, a Ex IACV has two wires blk/blu and yel/blk and the Dx has three with the third wire being orange but same as the Ex.Which would be best to fix this problem? Get a Dx wire harness and intake manifold or just get the Dx intake manifold and run a the third wire for the IACV. If that isnt the problem then I don't where to start, please help anyone?
