Default I'm looking for a type-s, what year shold I get

Since I'm going into the Marines I get the money my Dad saved up for my college, he is letting spend up to about 17,000 on a new car. What year RSX- type s has the best powerband and is the easiest to mod. Like which model has a lot of modifications for. I own a 95 teg and i dont think they sell more **** for cars then tegs or civics.

IMHO they are all mostly the same, With the exception of the first 30,000 (last six digits) in 2002 have dual valve springs, 30,000 and later in 2002 have single valve springs to better handle the mis-shifts and over revs that were happening.
All 2003, and 2004 models have the single valve spring on both intake and exhaust valves.

The 2002 models all have a bulletin that explains replacement of the synchros for a gear if they begin to grind...If you are looking into an 02, check the vinstatu at a dealer and look for a warranty repair history to identify if any of these repairs have been done.

If you need heated mirrors, you are stuck with 2004

And how much more weight are we talking? Probably not noticable... but I could be wrong.

Did you have a trade in or was that the negotiated price?

The 04' RSX has 1 heated mirror and only the driver side gets heated right?

negotiated price. I had a 2000 Civic EX, but did not trade it in for the RSX. I ended up trading it later for a Jetta and go 10k for it.
What did u get urs for?

that is after my 3k cash down payment. I financed 19 and some change.

my 02 Type S has had NO problems with second gear, or 1st,3rd,4th,5th,6th or reverse.

I am an NHRA (3809 )licensed driver but even I have missed a gear or two in this cars lifetime and she still runs good as new....WITH 60,000 miles....and mine was one of the first made.
