Default b16b cams in ITR

has anybody done this swap? my JDM ITR engine came with this, and its really noisy. i want to adjust the valves but dont know what specs to use. can someone help please?

clearance should be the same, no matter what cams you have installed, no?

what year is your R motor? The exhaust cam on both are identical and in 00-01 i believe (might have been earlier...) Type R's used the exact same intake cam as the CTR. If your motor is a pre 00-01 and has the ctr intake cam in it, just get the valve adjustment specs on a newer R and you are set.

that's what i don't understand. the engine is a july 2000 year model, so theoretically the stock cams should already be indentical to the CTR ones. if so why would the previous owner have bothered to swap the cams?

Because he was uneducated and didn't know. Just use the stock specs and you should be fine.
