question regarding ecu
I have checked search didnt find anything regarding this exact subject.
I blew my motor up last night driving on the freeway. I was in the vtec quite a bit screwing around. But I wasnt pushing it that hard
. Never hit the rev-limiter. It has 65k on the motor. I have a warranty on the car so I'm covered but does the prelude computer record speed and rpm. Just in case they check that and it shows I was in and out of the vtec with high revs. My opinion the car should not have blown under those circumstances. not with 65k on the motor and I also change my oil every 2k whether it needs it or not.

What exactly broke on the motor?</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah I am curious to see what happened. Especially if you didnt keep on the rev limiter cause god knows my dumbass used to do it all the time.
But then you grow up and learn how to drive!
Edit: me learning not you

I was tecing in 2nd and 3rd. I had it towed to gresham honda and they confirmed 2 spun bearings . I have had on going oil consumption issues with the car and I have been smelling fuel in the oil for quite sometime, so all of that contributed to it blowing.

I was not low on oil. In fact I had just changed the oil the day before. Honda suspects the block may be warped or the cylinder is. It has every indication the engine was over-heated at some point in its life. They also suspect the thats why theres fuel in the oil. Anyway I will post a follow up on monday or tuesday of the exact findings.
#2 rod bearing spun. So now there putting in a used motor w/31000 miles on it. Warranty company wouldnt pony up the mola for a brand new one, but I figure thats a good deal.
