how to tell OBD0 from OBD1/2?
does anyoen know how i can tell an obd0 b18a1 from a obd 1 b18a1? im not sure which motor i have. and i need to do a tuneup, which requires different parts. any dates, stamps, etc? maybe i can tell by looking at the ecu or dizzy? i need help asap!!
the date should be stamped on the front of the head between two tubes of the exhaust manifold...also if it has grey plugs for the distributor it would be obd1...

i thought 0bd1 was a b18b1?
i thought 0bd1 was a b18b1?
most likely if u have the map sensor mounted on the Throttle body, the smooth valve cover, and the pcv vent at the middle of the valve cover, Than its a obd1 motor.

ahh thats right
ahh thats right
hrmm what about ecu plugs? certains colors? i looked for a date but couldtn find anything
also i think im using the map sensor on my firewall (91dx), actually i am. and theres an oxygen sensor in the header with one wire coming from it, or a single strand. obd0?

Big connectors at the shock towers?
grey and square=OBD1
Translucent white/clear and round=OBD0
Most sensor connectors?
grey=OBD1
colored or white=OBD0

No. Injector clip color won't tell you the OBD. MOST injector clips are grey regarless of OBD. But I have seen some other colored injector clips.
If you leave the resistor box wired in you can use OBD0 injectors and clips on an OBD1 engine and vice versa, by removing the injector resistor box. They flow the same, they just need different voltages to work is all, thats the only difference.
