Anyone else notice how the EP3/RSX crowd isn't sure of what to do to our cars......
....just scan this forum as opposed to the other forums. More questions seem to center in here about what should I do? What wheels should I get? Do you think this would look OK (you get the picture). Everyone else seems to know what they want to do with their car EG, EF (still love my CRX), EK etc. I know we have a new "canvas" to "paint" but our cars have been out for what 2/3 years now.......discuss

Good answer,
Wish I would have thought of that

because everyone with a civic or integra wants to do the same thing (pretty much). its kinda sad, thats why my integra is mostly stock and still has its euro plates on. oh well...maybe i'll transfer those over to my EP when i purchase it.

Yeah our cars are just too new to really see what works and what won't as opposed to the "B series" which there's just about everything you want to change on the engine like cams, pistons, valves and such. In our case there's very limited aftermarket parts and not a lot of people have these parts on their cars, so we can't get much input on what makes the car come alive or kills it. On the other hand I've noticed a lot of people have posted more questions about "looks" rather than performance, maybe people are afraid to try new parts or these parts aren't available yet.

....and if we keep being afraid, no new parts will ever come about because no one is willing to break away from the herd........it seems sometimes if it's not cool on H-T no one wants to put it on their car. I'm not saying go all out and "rice" up the car (whatever that is at the moment---IMO pretty soon if this c/f thing keeps up it will be considered rice in the near future)....my JRSC will soon be ordered. I'm for-going the normal H-T turbo route

CF is sick IMO. Not rice at all. But people are still learning about this car and how and what to do to it. So there just trying to get other peoples opinion and what to do. This is a pretty much a complete new group to honda tech too. Alot of the people in this forum are less than 4 months old. But people are going to gain knowledge still from some of these posts on here and thats all that matters.

Not true. Do you hang at the appearance forum? People ask those questions there with their civic, accord, prelude etc. In fact, they ask those questions everyday haha

haha, very true. nobody wants their car to look ugly or to be slow. if you have people with the same "interest" on the same car, then you can interchange thoughts of what to do with it, what parts are best for the buck, and so on.

It seems to me like a lot of RSX owners are young, and probably pretty new to the car scene.
If you go over to ClubRSX it's kinda ridiculous...they paint their dashes, give props to altezzas...it just seems like a lot of the RSX drivers are in that first stage of being into cars (kinda directionless). Like..."I want m4d JDM rims!! But 19s!!! And a turbo!! And a roll cage!!! And altezzas cos the cf ones are cool!!!"
I think it'll just take a little time...once the warranties are up and the real enthusiasts get ahold of em, and once the young owners get through the rice stage...etc.

I've got an EP3, im only 17? I knew exactly what i wanted...why doesnt everyone just be original. People said my car wouldnt look good with the wheels and all kinds of ****. Guess what? they like it. Just be original, find what YOU like, thats what customizing is about. and DO IT!

Good responce man,
I hate to see the fads of an older chassis/younger generation infect a new chassis/and or design of automobile. Theres a guy in Asheville who runs around with a damn 2000 M3 qith altezzas in it...I wish I was a cop, I'd try and find something wrong
Really though, It makes me wonder if those "ricers" have any real tatste, of if they just run with the crowd b/c its "cool." Like those kids in school who try and smoke b/c their friends do it.
Who knows, until then I hope any ricer I encounter has a slower car

Some of thats true. If you want to find the technical side you have to search for a LONG time....thats what I have found.

Before I purchased my RSX I did a lot or re-search on that site (clubrsx) b/c a lot of what I had in mind somebody had allready done. It did help with the direction that I wanted to go.
Now there is a lot of posts and members...Damn thing gets me they have a moderator on there with a WRX, Maybe an STI. I can't remember...Whats up with that. I guess IMHO I think its wrong....
Maybe it brings balance to the force or something

I wasn't trying to say young owners are all ricers, I mean, I'm only 20 after all. I just know that when I was in high school I was more likely to like things like underbody neons, kits, lambo doors, etc. etc. A lot of kids who have just gotten their first car want to go in every direction at once, that's all.

I've read around on ClubRSX quite a bit. Go into their appearance forum, it's all about body kits, 19s, getting racing seats for looks even though they eliminate their side airbags. I got flamed on there for telling someone they aren't safer with harnesses unless they have a cage...it's the same thing as ClubSi. Doesn't mean there aren't people there who know their stuff though.
Another great thing I've seen or seen suggested on ClubRSX many times: color matching your headlight housings

They will learn when they are in an accident and their insurance carrier refuses coverage b/c they disabled a Federally Regulated safety component.
You have to think long term if you make a move like that.
