transmission problem

transmission problem

88 Accord -

3rd gear would not stay engaged (kept popping off) and 4th gear would not engaged.

what could go wrong?

how do i check for the syncros(?) problem? And how do we fix the problem? Would appreciate it.

u replace them whic means opening the tranny or taking it somewhere, costs about $800

In other words, you might as well buy another tranny from a junk yard.
