B16b wire harness
HI, i was wondering if anyone new what type of wire harness to use on a (ctr) 99 b16b, when i have a 99 civic ex. i tried putting the ex wire harness and everything looked good until i got to the distributor. the ex harness only has (8) cables going into the plug when the ctr engine has (9) plus the connectors are diffrent...any info would be appreciated..
thanks,
Frank

use the ex harness. it is the easiest way around it. take apart the connector off of the ctr harness. match it wire for wire, and the last one isnt used. PLEASE IF I AM WRONG CORRECT IT. i cant remember exactly what we did. i had the same prob with a gsr into a 2000 hatch. but i used the harness end off of the gsr i got. worked fine.
i started doing that but got scared thinking about mixing wires around so i stoped. is it pretty easy? where should i start from? and last of all is there any other lines or sensors that i might need to run in order for it to work??
your stock ex harness should plug into everything on the new motor. you may need to extend some plugs to reach on the b16b. just label all the plugs when you unhook them from the exmotor, then plug them into the b16b
yeah, all the plugs and sensors plug right in except for the distributor connection.
i wonder if a 99-00 SI engine harness would fit on the distributor without modifying or should i stick with exchanging the ex distributor connector on the harness to the ctr connecter.

re pin it wire for wire. they are all there, match them color for color, and terminate one that isnt. the one i did was a dx. i thought all ex's fit fine. re pin it youll be ok.
