Default clutch questions

my friend has a 96gsr and the clutch is really stiff and one of my other friends had a 97 dx and his clutch was stiff as well, why the hell does my clutch pedal(95 civic d16z6 hydro clutch) feel like a bowl of mush. yes i bled the system, and the clutch is fairly new. if you guys have any ideas let me know.

as long as it's functioning correctly i wouldn't worry about it.
my GF's clutch in her stock 97 EK LX feels quite a bit stiffer than her sister's stock 99 EK EX...both still have the OEM clutches in them.
could be somebody installed an aftermarket clutch that has higher or lower than stock stiffness PP fingers.
improperly lubed pivots for the clutch release fork could probably also add a little effort.

they both have honda clutches. i need to drive another car just like mine to see if that it the way it is supposed to be. my car has always been like this so i guess it is normal. Is there any way i can make it stiffer without getting a new clutch like adjust it possibly

no,if everything is in good condition, there's nothing you can do to make it stiffer.
why would you want it stiffer anyway?

My roommate and I have the exact same kind of car(2k ex), and our clutches are as different as night & day. Mine is a lot stiffer than his, and both are original Honda parts. If I were you I wouldn't worry about it, every clutch is different. If you really want a stiffer clutch you can grab a helms manual, it'll show you how. If I have time I might be able to grab mine on break (i'm at work right now ) and let you know.

And it has nothing to do with the actual clutch, it's your pedal that you want to change

Possible reasons:
1. No fluid in reservoir
2. Faulty clutch master cylinder, release cylinder, or hydraulic line
3. Broken release bearing or fork

I wish I could help more, but all I could find was my 96-2000 book. Hope this helps. Try to get your book back or buy another one.

dude, i asked the same question last week! i drive a 95 civic si.. which is a d16z6 like yours. the clutch isn't very stiff compared the GSR's and other civic's i've driven. i always thought i needed a new clutch.. now i guess it's normal. it's still functional and all, but after driving a stiff clutch, i like it.. it rides a lot smoother too for some reason.
