Default OT: Don't have a garage? Check out this type of protection for your R

Wireless tiny camera that can activate with a motion detector. It hooks up to your VCR and TV monitor! Has anybody tried this? wtr001" TARGET="_blank">http://www.x10.com/home/offer.cgi?!LND9,../weather1x.htm?>wtr001
This looks like the ticket to catch the thieves in action.

I swore that I would and will not ever buy anything from X10. Their stinking pop-up ads are the single most annoying thing to me right now.

Sorry, don't know the company. I just happened to see their pop-up ad and thought of informing my fellow R members. We need to strike a few blows to the criminal community

It's funny how their product is presented in the pop-up adds. They have no relation to the camera...unless, that is if you're a PERVERT. Examples...

- Picture of a girl with a skirt on with her hands covering the opening of the skirt???
- A girl sitting on the floor leaning back on a couch???

You know what would be cool...

If you could hook that up to an alarm system..or possibly mave some sort of sensor alarm system around the car.

For example..you know how automatic garage door openers have those sensors...and if anything "cuts" the beam..the door wont close for safety reasons?
It would be cool if you could have 4 of those made...and park your car in the middle. If anything breaks the beam...you could have a loud alarm in your bedroom (or wherever) that would sound and alarm you.

Think it would work?

They DO have an option that activates the camera due to motion! And WHEN it's activated, it AUTOMATICALLY turns on your VCR and records!

Default So my question is...

...let's say you have two of those hooked up to your VCR, what happens if BOTH motion sensors are triggered? Who records what?

I have one of these in my yard, one on the front porch, and two in the garage, plus a couple more inside. They're really cheap if you get a whole package, and even if a thief spots the cam., they're image has already been recorded far away (they're wireless). I have the VCR controller that starts the recording when the motion sensor is tripped, and I can shut that off when I'm home, or I can shut off just the inside ones so that the dog doesn't set it off (unless you want to see what your dog is doing while you're away, kind of funny too).

I agree with the X10 comments, pain in the *** pop-ups, but their **** works.

As for the two cam question, you have to set them up so that you can't trip two motion sensors at once. That way, the sender to the VCR can update the signal as each motion sensor is tripped (like if you set up a perimeter around your house and then go walk around it, tripping each sensor in sequence, the VCR would "follow" your movement).

I am a x10user myself. I highly recommend their products. Particularly their camera's! For the money, you can't beat them!
