Default Nitrous for H22

I have though about running an NX wet kit on my 94 VTEC. The car has 123,00 miles on it with just small bolt ons nothing major. What I want to know is would a 75 shot be pushing it or just play it safe and go 50 shot.

how good of shape is your engine in?
if it's good then i don't see why you couldn't run a 75 shot

Do a compression test and leakdown. If they both come back fine you'll be ok for nitrous. People are running up to a 125 shot on stock H22s. It's all dependent on tuning and how often you use it.

I've heard of up to 100 shot on bone stock (I/H/E) h22. You might want to talk to a guy named Newman. I've never talked to him about this, but he's always been super knowledgable about everything else and he's done over 100 H22 swaps.

what kind of tuning can you do w/ nitrous...don't most kits add fuel in respect to how much nitrous you add?

the fuel has a jet just like the Nitrous does. you can add larger shot jets for more fuel or make it smaller jets. also on your cam timing you can do different setting if you have cam gears etc etc etc.

You can run up to a 100 shot easily. Just make sure the motor is in good condition (no leaks, no smoke, good compression)

Your clutch, on the other hand, might not make it after a few passes. Don't ask me how I know.

I think I am going to run a 75 shot and I already got the clutch under controll I figured it wouldn't handle nitrous so I ordered a clutchmasters stage 3 along with a lightweight flywheel.

Fuel pressure, jetting, and ignition timing.

I'm assuming that's w/ an upgraded fuel pump?

Yes and it wouldn't hurt if that pump was pushing some VP103.

**** while your at it you might as well go all out and make an indepindent fuel system that pushes C16.

talk to firedrake about doing that. they did it to the LS1 and

Actually NOS and NX recommend running two fuel systems. It allows you to tune your fuel better because you can adjust the FPR on your second/nitrous fuel system without messing up your tuning off the bottle. I'm out for now though. Nitrous kit is sold and I'll be NA and slow until I'm out of school.

100 shot, msd timing retard, switch to direct port, fuel rail and pressure reg, pump, and tuning.. do engine check first to see if everything is a.o.k.. i wouldn't push it anymore then that.

If you try to run anything under a 75 shot with direct port you will be using some very, very tiny jets. Tiny jets are easily clogged, which can cause a headache if the nitrous jets get clogged or heartache if the fuel jets get clogged. If you are not going to go over a 75 shot just run a single fogger kit.

I picked up my NX wet kit last night. Just going to run a 75 shot with the fogger nozzle. Going to get everything checked out and compression tested, retard the timing and drop in the clutch and flywheel. Thanks for the help

75 !!!! Anything over 80 then you'll need to worry bout fuel management. The only thing is with a 75 you might need to retard your timing about 2 degrees.

That's what the MSD Dig 6 is for.
