Pls Help...! H22a Turbo or Supercharge.....? pls help.....
Hello all...! I hve a 97h22a with 90k miles, i recently bought a drag gen3 turbo kit and got fucked over by the peeps who installed mykit...! I really dont knw much about cars so I would really appreciate everyones opinion...! when they installed the kit my car ran like S*&%T timing was off, thick black smoke comes out of the exhaust, when u rev up patches of oil comes out of the exhaust with the smoke, i idle at 2000 rpm just so the engine wouldnt die, they cut the frame in the front just to fit the dpipe, vaccum was off, not boosting right, spent $250.00 in gas in one week alone...Just like i said IGOTFUCTOVER...! the kit was fine its just the way it got installed... I really love my car and have save up enough again to start fixing it...now im thinking twice of getting the turbo installed again coz of the bad experience....now im leaning towards getting a supercharger for my car.......! To everyone out there, which would you recommend? im just setting it up for daily driving here and there...Please Please help me....! What do i need to do to my cars engine if i put on a supercharger, turbo? Pls pls help me...! I really love my car and this forum for all the helpful tips you guys post...Now im seriously asking for every1's help...Thanks in advance for any response or opinion you guys might have.....
Hey sorry to hear you got screwed, thats terrible what they did to you. I can't believe they cut the frame you should file a lawsuit against them or something, thats serious right there. Anyway, since you have all the turbo stuff hold on to it, in the mean time get your car back to stock so you can actually drive it without any trouble and then find a quality shop in your area through asking around or these forums or something and get them to do the install and tuning. I only say keep the turbo parts since you have them already and you'd prolly lose money selling them for a supercharger. See what other people have to say this is just my opinion. Good luck
Honestly, I think your biggest mistake is doing something like boosting your car and not knowing much about it. What I suggest is that you go back to stock and do a ton of research on boosting a prelude, especially the h22a. Also, go back to the people who installed your turbo and give them a swift kick in the ***** for messin up your car. I'm sure the veteran H-T members will have a thing or two to say when they get here..
I had a Drag Gen 3 turbo kit and the didn't have to cut the frame when they installed it. I would go back and open a can of woop ***.
Boost is Boost. A supercharger offers no advantages over a turbo. The Block has to be sleeved and built either way and the turbo has more potential.

and this one..
The H22 is the hardest of all the Honda motors to play with of its generation. I have studied and researched for almost 2 years. I am now finally throwing a turbo on my car.

Burn the shop to the ground like Milton from "Office Space". Then do some research here and find the best Honda Tuner in your city. You're gonna have to bite another bullet by having another shop re-do your car, but Im sure you'll be happy with a properly turbocharged prelude :-). Also you may have grounds to sue the **** out of the company that screwed with your car...consulting a lawyer may be a good idea as well.
thanks to ever1 who replied to my post....just gonna hold back for little bit more i guess till i get everything figured out....ima try and find a place here to do it for me...! just pisses me off thinking what condition my engine is right now...hopefully everything's still ok...ima bring it to a shop here and get everything checked out specially now that its running with 90k+ miles....still hoping that i can still boost even with such mileage....oh yah by the way remember i said i got fuctover..well i asked em why my car was running like crap when i still had the turbo on my car...all they can tell me to do is buy this buy that....damn ******&$*...told me i had to buy 450cc injectors right away and it will take care of everything...then they wanted me to fix the bottom end right away for another $4500....well thats the rest of my freakin sad story......thanks again for replying all....! just wish me luck....thanks again.....!
