I own a 00 R, about a month ago I noticed the clear coat had started to peel of my rear bumper, just beside the plate.

I took the R to the dealers body/paint guy, who, as most dealer reps do, did not want to accept any responsibility. Its like the money for some clear coat is coming out of his FRICKEN pocket.

Anyhow, the guy tells me my bumper was repainted... I told him no, the car has never seen the inside of a body shop...

He does not want to warranty it... WHAT DO I DO... short of putting a bomb is his car.

 

Phone Acura customer service (# is in your owners manual) and complain about the service you received. Then try another dealer.

 

I have actually had some problems with the paint on my car aswell. I took it to Acura East, and they would not warranty it. So, it's not just Acura Of NOrth Toronto. I've been there many times when they used to have a Parts guy i knew, now that he's gone, i have'nt been back, but overall, the place is decent.

Perhaps, you can try different dealers and see what they say, you may get lucky and find a nice guy who is willing to warranty it.

 

Who doesn¡¦t want to honor the warranty, the dealer or the body shop?

I can't see how a body shop can make that call. Either way I would take this up with Honda Canada!

It is not un heard of for dealers to repaint parts of new cars if they have been scratched before they are sold. It looks like this may have happened here so I might use that angle to vent some anger toward the dealership and demand that they fix their own mistake!

i know North Toronto shop is gay!
i got my car about three month ago and i saw the rear bumper OEM body kit has some space between bumper and kit. so i took it to North Toronto Acura and they told me body kit is accessory therefore i have to take back to the origenal Acura dealer where i got the car from to fix it or they WILL FIX but with CHARGE i was like god i bought the car at st catherine!! no way i'll be driving two hours to get the down to fix my kit !! therefore i wrote email to Performance Acura which at St. Catharines. they told me the kit is including warranty for 3 years or 60000k. and they told me just take my car to other dealer. so i went to Terrace Gate Acura and told them what happened. and they fix my kit with no charge so u might wanna try Terrace Gate Acura. thier serves is kinda good but slow
