Need help guys Code 22
im pulling a code 22 I have a Vafc and disconected the vtec controller option on it ( its not wired) I've replaced the oil and its also leveled, cleaned out the filters on the solenoid. Heres the weird part the code doesn't come on til i hit vtec in fourth gear or fifth if i shift early from fourth. i've rewired the vtec completley over and also using jason Koehlers jumper harness Im stumpped please help guys and i've already searched

1 - ground
2 - solenoid
3 - O2
4 - Oil Pressure Switch
Make sure all these are good.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I did that and to the extent of replacing the whole unit and still getting code 22
please help bump for the afternnon peeps

One of those has to be the problem. You will not get the 22 because of anything else other then low oil level.
Make sure all the wires are going into the ecu at the correct pin out. Also make sure that when you were putting the wires into the plug at the ecu that the diagram that you were using matched the plug.
What I mean is that is the diagram that you were using with the plug wires facing away from you or going towards you. This will make a difference of which side you make the first pin 1 going to to the left in order.
I did this and had to rewire before the 22 went away.

i rewired twice and still the same problem im using Blown90Hatches jumper harness and this is the third motor i've used it on the last three motors so its not the wiring or the solenoids cause i've replaced twice with a new one and a used unit
tell me how you hooked everything up. I will try and see if there is anything I did differently.
I know it might be long but I don't know what else too tell you. It has to be one of those wires. Unless the Solenoid is bad. You can use the one off of a single cam. It will bolt up.
I just went back to read your first post. I now think it's the VAFC. I am not sure how to hook that up and that is prob. getting in the way somehow, electronically.
Check on how you hooked that up. go over the wires again. Maybe even have another person look at it. Sometimes you just go blind and need to not look, think about it for a while and BAM it comes to you.

the vafc is not even hooked up im just using it to control the 450cc dsm and my motor is a sohc.
anyways the way Blown90hatch has it done is the two wires go directly to the pressure swicth and solenoid it plain and simple
by the way thanks for taking the time to help

If your sure that it's not the VAFC then grab a volt meter and make sure that you are getting power at the plugs of the harness.
Maybe one of the wires are broken inside the sleeve and you can't tell.
Turn the volt meter to OHM's and touch the POS. & NEG. ends together,
one of 2 things should happen, one the volt meter will jump to the other side and/or you will hear a constant noise. This means that you have power at the wire that you are testing.

did that too already i've already followed the diagnosis pattern off of red pepper racing for the code 22. Im thinking now that it is my oil pan cause im using my friends old oil pan and he for got to mention that they used a a6 pan on his z6 and pretty much im doing the same im using a a6 pan on my z6. heres my question do you think it makes a difference between the two as far as the pick ups concern
i know that all the oil pans for D series are the same on the outside but not so sure about the inside.
