Default help: my idle is surging.

As the topic states my cars idle is surging. Its a 95 accord coupe with a jspec h22 with lsd. Car was running great, no idle surges, pulled hard, and all that. Recently I had my str cam seal, new tranny oil, new plugs and wires, and my aem pulley kit for a h22 installed. After all the stated work was done, my idles started to surge from about 1000-1500 rpm. What could be the problem? Could the pulleys be the culprit? Please help, this idle surge is driving me crazy.

I bet it the idle air control valve. Take it off the intake manifold and inspect it. If the screen is clogged or the spring inside broke that will cause the idling surge.

75% chance it's a vacuum leak somewhere...

I recently had this problem and what had happened was the oil vapor from the PCV valve had soaked all the gaskets on the intake manifoild and so they were leaking....Once I replaced all of those gaskets(30$ and a lot of work), it idled perfectly. So, yeah, I'd say check the IACV and if that doesn't work it's probably a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake manifold...

The other time I had that happen, I got a new throttle body with the Throttle Position Sensor, and that fixed it.....

When is it surging?.... Does it do it when you first turn on the car and go away after it warms up, or does it do it the whole time you have the car on?

is the idle air control valve the same thing as....the part that controls the cold start high idle to help warm up the car? Cause I had that problem and a friend told me there's a sensor or valve that runs off the coolant temp, and if you dont't change your coolant it will get clogged and cause idle 'hunting' like the car ecu isn't sure if the car is warmed up or not.

The idle surge only happens when the car is warm and has load on it. Idle is fine at start up, although i've noticed that the idle is a tad higher that it was before. Funny thing is, when the idle surges begin, if i turn on my a/c it goes away. But after running awhile the a/c trick doesn't work. Due to school haven't had a chance to check anything just yet. Keep the suspicions comming, i'll be check her out this thursday or friday. Thanks
