ok i jsut bougt the car it has a 1.6L d16y7, and when im driving when i come to a luight or put it in neutral my idle drops to like 500 rpm for about 5 seconds, then it will go to normal, when it is super low the exhaust starts rattling, there are no codes, and the mech said it can be one of 10 things from a tuneup to replacing a idle part...anyone know what it can be and if anyone has experienced this problem?

Try adjusting your idle.

Make sure car is warm.
Disconnect IACV and MAP.
Start car.
Adjust throttle idle screw to 750 rpm if need be.
Shut car off
Reconnect IACV and MAP.
Pull battery or ECU back up fuse for 30 seconds.
Replace
Start car and leave idling for 5 mintues without touching acclerator.

it could very well be that it has almost no gas and its very cold out, who knows, i just got it still gotta fill the tank

 

Well I would also first check the timing, that is what it was on my D16Y7. It did almost the same thing you described when I first got it.
