I concurr with Zer0DazE commment...

stock P30 vtec point is 5500rpm, redline 82-8300rpm (8500rpm wont hurt tho).

Well, this all depends on what you're going to do with your engine and the upgrades you're going to do, especially with your camshaft(s). So i can't say how a low of a vtec point is best.....actually its not a super good idea to make your vtec point lower than the stock vtec point, you'll actually wind up losing power, especially with stock cams. Whats your engine goal anyways ?

As far as which ecu will work with your engine, that all depends on what year your car. What year is your car?

If your civic is 92-95 its OBD1 equipped, so any US or JDM OBD1 B16A (P30)/GSR(P72) reprogramming suggested/ and reprogrammed P28 ecu's will & can power your B16A engine. There are a few other JDM OBD1 ecu's that aren't too popular that can be reprogrammed to DOHC VTEC spec as well (P91, P70, and a few others).

If your car is 88-91 its OBD (or OBD-0) equipped. The best ecu to use would be a PR3 or PW0 ecu to power the B16 engine, unless you've upgraded to OBD1...then of course you'd use an OBD1 ecu.

About OBD1 Type-R ECU's...
Honda of Japan never made an OBD1 version of any Type-R ecu, they're all OBD2 spec. The only thing remotely close to OBD1 about them is the programming on them; but the physical JDM Type-R ecu's are OBD2 spec.

I have a few minor bolt-ons right now....EX. Power Plus intake mani, 4-1 type r header, etc. but i'm going to either go (Super charger) or im going to go all motor....which the all motor is most likely going to be the one i choose.....I;m looking to install a Hondata later on....and im looking for a CTR intake cam!!
What do you guys suggest....My main goal is lowering my E.T.'s

If i were you, I'd just wait till you added the SC and use the Hondata when you get it, but leave the ecu stock for now. just my $.02
