Default Differences Between 1st Gen CR-V LX and EX

hey everyone. my mom is looking for a 1st gen CR-V and I'm just wondering if any of you know the difference between the EX and LX trims. By the way I live in Canada if that makes any difference. Thanks.

ex..realtime 4wd, coloured mirrors and door handles lx...2wd.

thats all i can think of off the top of my head. What year is she looking to get? i know the 1997 models...they all looked the same..whether it was lx or ex. And she does know there is a difference in hp between the 97-98 and the 99-01's.
I'll post if i can think of anything else.

She's looking to get a 99 LX 64000 KM for 16,0000 CDN which is pretty cheap compared to most of the other ones I've been looking at. Another upside is that it has all service records from the dealership. But before I go look at it I want to know what the differences between the LX and the EX.

ok..did a quick search and came up with this as well....

The EX model comes equipped with ABS, a CD player, remote entry system and alloy wheels. The LX model comes with none of these features, but both models have air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power locks and a rear window wiper with defogger.
Both the 15-inch alloy wheels and remote entry system are optional in LX trim model

Add this info...to what i said before...and thats basically the differences. The main difference being the realtime 4wd and the 2wd.

The realtime 4wd has helped me out on a couple occasions where it got really bad in the T.O.

Good Luck with her purchase!

yeah, i think the 1st gen did come with a dx. really dummied down.

btw, try and get the 140hp engine.. cause the 1st 1st gen was underpowered. try getting 2000 cr-v. thats when the se version came out. looks a lot better IMO.

Parents changed their mind we're getting a 2001 Black EX w/ 52000 KM on it out of the showroom. All done up with the bush guard and what not. I'm going to go take a look at it tonight I'll give you guys an update after.

And there was no DX model for the CR-V. Only EX and LX.

well, USDM and CDM are different sometimes. as there was a DX in the states, it wasn't around for long as it didn't sell well.

I'm not sure if the LX and EX model descriptors hit the U.S. in 1998 or 1999, but in 1997, the first year of the CR-V in the U.S., there was no LX or EX -- just a model with or without ABS. I have the window sticker from my mom's 1997 (CR-V with ABS) that shows this.

There is no current CR-V DX, nor has there ever been in the U.S.
