don't think there's any difference.tensioner pulley and water pump are same part numbers for both, belt is different part number.no idea why,but as far as i know they're the same thing.i've used both on 1G B16s with no problems.

Heres why i ask-

I was looking at a website for parts, and they have the timing belt kits that include waterpump and tensioner pulley. There is nearly a 75$ price differance for the b16 delsol kit vs. the b16 SI kit? They both have the same parts, just differant price? I thought maybe there was something differant in the two.

was this an OEM or aftermarket site?like i said above, the tensioner and waterpump are the same for sure.even though the part numbers are different for the belts,i can't think of any difference in them.i have no clue.
i'd say go with the cheaper of the two.

Would it have anything to do with OBD I vs. OBD II?

OBD is electrical, timing belt, water pump and tensioner are mechanical! They are the same, go with the cheaper one! As long as it is a factory honda belt!

they are both factory kits-
Honda Civic Si
1999-2000 B16A2 Timing Belt Kit - timing belt, timing belt tensioner, timing belt tensioner spring, and water pump $173.99

Honda Del Sol VTEC DOHC
1996-1997 B16A2 Timing Belt Kit - timing belt, tensioner pulley, tensioner spring, and water pump $109.99

Factory or aftermarke shouldn't matter- They still use the same crank pulley, cam gears, waterpump, tensioner, right? ******* wierd

When I ordered my timing belt for my 93 B16A2 from Honda it was the P2T (99-00 Si), they are the same.

no kidding.....i say go for the Del Sol kit.i guarantee it will work....i'm going with my mom to look at CRVs one day this week(she's finally getting rid of her EG!).i'll try to get to the parts counter if i have time.hopefully they'll have both timing belts in stock just so i can visibly confirm there's no difference in them.

haha!i was tryingto convince her to get a 1st generation model because they're cheaper and basically any part that can go wrong with the motor i have laying around the garage
she wants something brand new though.she wants a factory warranty, and i'm sure they're offering a low enough interest rate and longer financing on the new model that the payments won't be much more than a used one.
i love the way the 1st gen CRVs looked,HATE the new generation.
