Default Removal of EG grill

What is the best method to remove the OEM grill/grate in the eg front bumper? Anyone who has done this please comment....i have been told that it must be cut out. I want it to look clean not sawed up, so any help would be greatly appriciated. I searched but could not find any helpful EG specific information. Thanks. This is a pic of what i want to remove (I used a pic of Brewer Hatch's car from his post, let me know if you want it removed). Do i need to remove the bumper first?

actually, a sawzall is great to cut the huge chunk out of the middle, then sand with a small radial sander/dremel to get the scraps.
